Multicultural Pastors Retreat – a great celebration of the diversity of God’s people!

Nearly 90 LOTE (Languages other than English) pastors as well as BUV support hub staff, attended the Multicultural Pastors Retreat on 10-12 May 2021, which was held at Camp Wilkin, Anglesea.

After last year’s retreat being cancelled due to COVID-19, it was a great opportunity to see one another again for fellowship, prayer, worship, and lots of laughs!

The group explored topics such as:

  • Working together inter-culturally,
  • Seeing Jesus from different cultural perspectives and
  • Exploring resiliency models for young people.

Opportunities for discussion were also held among the attendees in their various regional groups as they prayed together, reflected on the past year and took part in vibrant activities and stimulating conversation—a hugely important and much overdue relationship-building time. Many pastors commented that the retreat was an opportunity to ‘fill their tank’ especially after such a difficult year.

In-between sessions, the group celebrated the diversity of God’s people with a variety of musical items from a host of varying cultural groups. What joy it was to be blessed by such talents and gifts!

All the praise and glory to God for a great time spent to connect and engage with one another again, and a huge thank you also to the BUV support hub’s multicultural team, Rev Meewon Yang and Charlene Delos Santos for putting this together. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
