A packed congregation filled the Victorian Chin Baptist Church in Croydon this past Saturday for the ordination of 8 of our newest pastoral leaders. From a diversity of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, it was a wonderful celebration of God’s faithfulness to see the journey that these women and men have been travelling find its fulfillment. The readings, songs and prayers they chose together spoke to the depths of their gratitude and reliance upon God through it all.

Called, gifted, equipped and prepared. It may have been long and winding, but the journey that led to this moment was shared by family, friends, mentors, pastors and congregations of supportive members who nurtured, loved and encouraged each one. So many of those wonderful cheerleaders were present to share in their ordination. It was a day full of joy!

And so begins a new stage of the journey. Our prayer for these newly ordained women and men of God is that they will serve faithfully, live courageously, and pray unceasingly.
